Here is a tutorial that I wrote ages ago, but I decided to post it here.

QuarkXPress Tools Tutorial

I dont know if anyone uses Quark, but here is my tutorial on how to use the tools in this program. For those who don't know, Quark is a design tool.

Here is the tools bar:



^This will allow you to drag items on your page around. The items can be anything from a line to a text box. You can also drag pictures around inside the picture box.


^This lets you resize items, select text and click in a box to start typing.


^This lets you twist things around! You can twist text boxes, lines and pictures so they face sideways and many more directions


^This lets you zoom in on your page. You can also press CTRL + + to zoom in and CTRL + - to zoom out.


^This is the simple text box tool. The default shape is rectange but you can hold down on this button to reveal more shapes.


^This is the picture box tool. You can also hold down to reveal more shapes.


^This is the table box tool. Choose this and drag a box on your page and a box appears asking for the number of rows and columns.


^This is the line tool. You can drag anywhere on your page with this and it forms a line.


^This is the text line tool. Drag anywhere and anyway and then type on the line. Then the text can be twisted in any direction.

^The startburst tool. This lets you drag a star onto the page. You can change its size and its fill colour.

^The scissors tool. Using this to click on the boundary of an item like a text box, the text moves around the edge of the box.
