We're hiring

We're a very quiet forum right now, and we're looking to pick up our activity with staff members that have experience; that know how to handle members that also want the forum to do well, along the members who don't. We're looking for those that won't just become staff and let everyone down, we're looking for a staff team that will successfully push the AZ in the right direction.
We currently have 3 staff groups: Community Team, Events Coordinator, Review Team. If you choose to apply, please include which group you'd prefer. If it's a group we don't currently have, pitch us a new idea and perhaps we can put it together.
Reply in this topic if you're interested in a staff position, let us know any experience you have and what you'd like to bring to the AZ.

Whoever cannot take care of themselves without that law is both.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant,
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.'
Such is the rule of honor.

I've been really really sick lately. So I'm sorry I'm not 'dedicated' enough to be the E.C. I tried. Hope someone else will step up to do a better job.

Some people are rich.
Others are too young.
But I am among the awesome
that work for a living.
It's hard.
I am tired most of the time.
So if I vanish for a while.
It is because I am working
and being a wife.
There are more important
than the internets.

That's a pretty douchy comment right there, way to put down the staff. 'Events coordinator' is a staff group that can have more than 1 member - the more, the better and more regular the competitions. Right now it's only one person, and they're doing a pretty great job so far.
We're mostly looking for users to join the Review Team. You'd need to review graphics as they are posted, hopefully to a point where everything submitted gets at least 1 in-depth review by a review team member. Their favourites can be added to the gallery directly.
I think structured English is the biggest concern. If you can't use capital letters appropriately, or even spell words properly - then you shouldn't really be using message boards at all.

Sorry for the off topic rant, but since the "Hear Hear." was thrown in, I figured the damage was done. (I suggest you threaten to demote/kick/ban people if you wish this to go no further.)

But I don't think there's much wrong with simply using a message board if you don't follow dictation. It can just get annoying sometimes when people take it too far.
Don't think you're going off topic though, as it IS related somewhat to the topic. But that's all I'll post on it

This is very much an elitist point of view, but in my experience (and of other forum administrators I'm sure) the staff members that tend to have the most problems with the community are the ones that have had their posts misinterpreted, and caused flaming and essentially pointless banter over nothing.
Example? This topic regards staff members. As did my reply.
On that note, we are still looking for Review Team members to write in-depth, well written (although not necessarily lengthy) reviews on the art submitted by the community on a regular basis. Please let me know if you are interested. We are currently making changes the art submission forums to make it a lot clearer to everyone on how to get your art featured and added to our gallery.

Nobody seems to have read that part of my reply. I was just saying it was elitist for you to say that people who can't use proper grammar shouldn't be on message boards at all.

I would apply, but I don't think I'm up for the job. However, I do agree with Wraith and GothikButterfly
@Tmoat - obviously everyone has, this entire topic is about staff members. Also, I don't think it's elitist to simply ask people to take a few extra seconds to spell and use proper grammar. I mean, everyone can do it. Elitist would be expecting everyone to be able to afford a new Mercedes, or be able to explain advanced Physics. I wouldn't consider pushing the shift key either of those.
But let's move on. Replies should be about becoming a staff member.

And your request for moving on has been thwarted by you adding to the argument, just to let you know.

I shared my opinion briefly and didn't ask any questions that would lead to a reply. I'm unsure why you felt the need to reply, because I thought you had already written what you had wanted to share.

I love the 'whatever is considered structured English'. Languages are a set of rules that must be abided by in order to be intelligible to interpreters; structured English is a method of composing a complicated message for other parties to understand. I understand that you want people to post their ideas in any format, and I agree; however I would prefer that you not border on hypocrisy - especially not in order to prove a point to those whom you consider inferior.
